“Do you remember them? The other kids?”

Ten years ago all the children of Hamelin, NY were stolen by The Piper - all except Liesel. Now, bored and lonely, Liesel is the only teenager in town. When a mysterious girl Liesel’s age appears, she jumps at the chance to befriend the enigmatic musician Jac. Jac is cool and confident, but as the two spend the day together, Liesel begins to grow suspicious about her new friend. Who is she really and why has she come to this cursed town? Based on the fairy tale The Pied Piper of Hamelin, The Last Child of Hamelin is about the aftereffects of a tragedy and how it ends up isolating and connecting people.

The Last Child of Hamelin was created as a part of the Digital Short Story project for my MFA in Visual Narrative at the School of Visual Arts. It combines traditional comic pages with scrolling comic pages. The whole thing can be found read here.
